Time management for me is a very hard concept at times. Sometimes I find it hard keep things in check and make sure I'm on check with everything. Usually if I create a list of the things that I have to accomplish, I tend to focus better and use time more efficiently. With a list or a schedule in this case, I can visually see the things that I need to accomplish and get them done in a timely manor. However, if I don't have a list or at list think out some sort of plan, I tend to not get things done as well.
I find that my mood also effects how I manage my time. If I am in a bad mood or am very tired and exhausted, then I don't put as much thought on time and let things get away from me. Before I know it, I'm rushing trying to get things done. If I am energetic and am in a good mood, I eagerly keep my eye on the time and am able to get things done and finish things on time.
Something that I notice always gets me motivated is music. Usually when I am working on a project, I tend to pick music that best suites what I am working on. With that I can use the length of the music tracks to also keep track of time. It makes the time fly by and helps me focus on projects. Usually I'll have iTunes, Pandora, or Spotify open, usually at all times.
On of the biggest time killers for me is Facebook. I try to avoid it, especially when I am working on projects, but sometimes it's hard. Even for those parts where I may need help with something and the only way to get in touch with someone is through Facebook. Then I catch myself on there and not even trying to get in touch with the person I intended too.
So in conclusion, the things that help me stay on track is music and if I am in a good mood. Being energetic and creating a plan as it were helps as well. If I don't avoid Facebook and don't get enough sleep, then I can easily lose track of time and not accomplish much.

Pre-Production for Dark Carnival: Reference Research
For this project, I plan on creating a First Person Platformer, much like Mirror's Edge but with the art style of Rayman Raving Rabbids.
Here is some beginning research for the carnival:
For stylistic reference, here is some screens and pics from Rayman Raving Rabbids:
Here are some character references for the level

Theres are some the various attractions the level would have:
Ferris Wheel

One at Night
The Spinning Swings
A Fun House
Finally, a Rocking Ship
Adding a twist to the level, I want to do a creepy, Halloween type of carnival. Something spooky:
